Parents and adults in the Gloucester community blame broken families and movies like "Juno" and "Knocked Up," which target teenagers, for making them believe that pregnancies are the best thing that could happen to them

Are you kidding me? How can you put this blame on movies. Lets face it. Without proper parenting kids this age are going to do what they want to. The school district is completely embarrassed that 17 females in their school are "Knocked UP". Sometimes no matter how good of a parent you try to be or think you are your kids will do something like this. I do not believe this is a reflection of parents but the area they are around... After all, doesn't that high school have a DAY CARE?

Meanwhile, Mayor Carolyn Kirk, a member of the school committee, has placed some blame on the "hard economic time" the city is going through and stated that the existence of such a pact is "believable, in the sense that it would explain this spike" in teenage pregnancies, referring to the fact that the number of pregnancies were four times as high than last year.

Really? Then these kids know NOTHING about a child. To feed, clothe, diaper and the rest with in the first year is at least 10 grand or more. Not like their parents can afford to help them so i bet they will get on welfare and we will be supporting them. Not that welfare is bad, they should have given themselves a chance to do it right the first time

"It’s the social environment these girls are coming from," added Kirk. "They think that a baby can give them love or give them status or fill an empty space in their life, and these girls are very, very young. And I think if you talk to any teenage mother who is caring for an infant, the road is not easy."

Well when your social environment has a day care that is free and you can still continue your education it all seems pretty easy! I do not believe these kids are going to pay for what they did in anyway RIGHT NOW. They will pay later down the road when they have to worry about day care and so on. Yes, they are young. They are going to think this baby is the only one that can ever understand them and love them. Until 3am when the kid won't sleep and they are up all night getting puked on!!! THATS LOVE!

This trend has somewhat been glamorized in reports prior and on Thursday when Britney Spears's 17-year-old sister Jamie Lynn Spears gave birth to a baby girl.

Yeah so that is true. I really do not think that this is glamorized. She is a celebrity and that is what happens. Look, she went from a tiny 16 year old to a pregnant woman over night. Where is the glamor in that? Kids live in a blurred vision tunnel. These girls wanted 15 minutes of fame. Now they are getting 18 years of guilt, heartache, love, mess, back talking, the works!

For these girls sake I hope they have wonderful pregnancies and that they go on the have healthy babies. Later down the road they will realize it was a mistake. I hope they do not take that out on their children but them selves and push to be the best they can be and not another statistic. These babies deserve a perfect life and the 17 girls need to strive for that.

. I personally think this is a great idea.

I got this story from USA Today. It is all over the news. This really freaks me out. I have a 3 year old daughter. WTH! I think when she is about 10 i am going to find someone with a colic baby and let her deal with that for a day. She will not want kids at that age. i am not sure what to do and what is right to do for a parent on that one. It is all so frustrating to see what i am facing...

GLOUCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A pact made by a group of teens to get pregnant and raise their babies together is at least partly behind a sudden spike in pregnancies at Gloucester High School, school officials said.

Principal Joseph Sullivan told Time magazine in a story published Wednesday that the girls confessed to making the pact after the school began investigating a rise in pregnancies that has left 17 girls at the school carrying a child. Normally, there are about four pregnancies a year at the school.

Sullivan told Time that nearly half of the expecting students, none over 16, were involved. Sullivan said students were coming to the school clinic multiple times to get pregnancy tests, and "seemed more upset when they weren't pregnant than when they were."

I am rather stressed about many things in life. I know that we all are and we all tend to deal with it differently.

1 Granny and her cancer.... She has booted her live in bf cause he was a drunk. That is fine. Wonderful actually. Except for some financial benefits that he had. He was not rich but he had a job and helped her pay the house bills. My uncle has decided to go back to school to because a CPA and that is pretty much full time. He lives with Granny. Granny gets a social security check of not much for 2 people. Thank god her house is paid for! I feel that after this lovely vacation (thats another story) that we are going on i should get a night job (another story). At least a job to help with her electric bill.

2 Hubby comes home from work late and it really messes up the schedule of the kids. They are used to eating at about 430 and things cleaned up by 6 and we spend time with them before bed time at 7. When he gets home late that ruins them. They do not want to sleep because they want to spend time with daddy. I understand but sometimes i hate the NAVY!

3 My dog doesn't like my daughter... He has an attitude and likes to pee in her room! i mean it is funny but not at the same time! I am sure when she stops being mean to him he will stop peeing in her room!

4 We are going to Minnesota for a week in August. I really do not mind going there. After all it is hubby family. BUT We were supposed to have a wedding next year in May. We were going to use our tax money and pay for it. But we need to pay off some bills before we do that. We are already married and we are just doing it for family and picture sake. OH and his family believes that if we do not get married we are going to hell. WTF. I believe in God and all that but they are a bit over the top. He has not told his family what is going on and when we get there i am going to get questioned about it. I am not gonna be a happy camper. Why can't he just tell them before we get there? I do not understand. I don't understand the lack of communication with him and his family.

5 A night job... Hubby told me that he doesn't know if he will be able to watch the kids at night while i work. I have not mentioned this to anyone in the family. Granny has done so much for me that i feel like this is the least that i can help her with. The kids sleep at 7 i mean really how hard is it?

6 Back to the vacation... I am really scared and stressed over this Florida trip. I am scared to Fly with Little Dude, the stress of going on vacation. I am sure that i will be fine once it all starts. Oh did i mention i am taking the dog with us on the plane!!! That is if they have not raised the prices for that crap too!

I think that is all my bitching for now. I need to clean. Read some things on how to blog better and go from there.

Dog H2O bowl is a fav among the kids?

I have this water bowl for the dog.... Why is it that every morning Little Dude has to dump the water out? Is it that he has to make sure that is actually water in there? Is it that he likes the mess and for me to yell out his name???

Well for other than hygiene reasons.... I took a break to take a 5 minute shower. I feel such a relief. Like my day can start over again. Today was stressful. Not sure why. Lots going on. Sometimes i just wish that i could put in a leave chit but for some reason when you are a SAHM they do not make that form... Perhaps i should work on that. I have the 2 kids and a fixed dog with a cone on his head. He isn't to happy. I feel like getting Nanna to clean her room is like pulling teeth. What is so hard about that? She is 3. She has to many pricey toys to just toss them out, but what do i do? Take away the TV and she cries clean it for her and she cries cause she knows she is losing stuff. I finally got her room clean after 30 minutes and now she has NO TV.
Little Dude has 4 molars coming in and they are not pushing through. He has been horrid for the last 3 weeks. We got him to a point that he would sleep through the night but i feel like he has back tracked. I am not sure if it is his medications or the fact that he is having trouble breathing in his sleep. He wakes all frustrated and trying to catch his breath. I am not to sure. I know that i am going to be switching all of our PCM so maybe i get a doctor i like. That is on my list of things to do tomorrow... Lets hope that i remember

I guess that is enough bitching about my kids. They are really wonderful... I am just to stressed out to try to analyze what a 3 and 1 year old are doing!!!

I really like the fact that i have a blog. I am not a writer, I am not a person of crazy profession, I am JUST a mom. I stay home with my kids, I cook clean deal with a 16 month old with Asthma, and a 3 year old who thinks she is 13. I would love to get on here and update but i really do not think that my life is that exciting for others. I am a Navy Wife dealing with the secret life hat outsiders do not think that we live. I am simple, I am plain, I like to wear make-up at times, I am a news freak, there are things i have to do daily, kinda OCD like. I am from a small town and moved to a big city, somewhat a small town girl that LOVES the big city world.

With all that being said. You will not find right punctuation, grammar or anything else that you learn in the English language in High School. I am just simple and would like to get my thoughts out. This is my outlet and this is what i will bugg those of you in the blogger world with.

WE had SO much fun!!! We get in free once a year s we took advantage of that on Father's Day. The kids had such a great time! They opened the Bay of Play and Brianna had a BLAST. I can't want to take little dude back so he can have some fun!!! He fell asleep at that time so i just stayed with him!!!

If you come to San Diego I highly recommend bringing your kids to have a good time!

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Simmons Kids Crib Mattresses

Units: About 20,000

Manufacturer: Simmons Kids, a division of The Simmons Manufacturing Co., LLC of Atlanta, Ga.

Hazard: Some of the crib mattresses can measure smaller than the 27 1/4 inch minimum width requirement for cribs, creating a gap between the mattress and crib side rails, posing an entrapment hazard to infants.

Incidents/Injuries: Simmons Kids and CPSC have received one report of a 6-month old baby becoming wedged between the mattress and crib's frame. The baby was removed from the crib by the parent without injury.

Description: The recalled mattresses involve open coil crib mattresses manufactured between July 1, 2006 and March 23, 2008 with a color label attached to the top or side of the mattress that has the following model names:

The crib mattresses also have a law tag that is sewn into the edge of the mattress. Pocketed Coils(r) and Simmons Kids or Simmons Juvenile Products crib mattresses manufactured before July 1, 2006 or after March 23, 2008 are not included in the recall.

A few thoughts

I got an email saying a really good quote.... I will enclose that later. I am a daughter, a wife, a grand-daughter and niece of someone in the military. In one way or another they all fought for the wars in our time from WWII and on. It means a lot to me that i have spent 24 of 26 years of my life supporting them. I believe none of their work is done in vain and they take a lot of heat for what they do. They miss the good things in life they miss the first of many things with their children. Being a wife to a sailor i have done many things without my husband. I have brought 2 babies into this world without him. I am not the first woman to do this nor will i be the last. It is something most can never get over. It is a sense of accomplishment that one takes pride in. Do i think i am better than you no, Do i think my job is harder than the average stay at home mom? NO? Do i feel that i deserve some credit for putting up with our government that has the worst sense of humor ever.... Sometimes. We are not better or worse than anyone. We are the back bone and the support of husbands, dads and mothers who serve our country daily. That is a job that i am proud to hold. I hold this job high and i know that i can do it.

please pray for our Men and Women that our fighting for our country today. If you agree or not our government sent them there.

Asthma, Anyone?

Well E is 16 months old and has been diagnosed with asthma. I figured. I know it can be worse, but really what mom wants to deal with this? He had a nebulizer that looked like a duck and he did really well with that until he was given the Aero Chamber to use with his inhalers. So far so good. I have to say i am happy that we have figured it out now and not when he is 5 playing football and gets hit in the chest. I am very proud of my little man, He is doing so well for being so young. And to get something shoved in his face with medication, such a great little guy!

Cancer, Friends, Downtown and getting old

First lets start with the cancer. My Granny has lung cancer with it spread in other places in her body. It is small cell. They have given her 2 years 50/50. Not good no matter how you look at it. I have had many emotions when it comes to this. Denial, Mad, Sad, Hurt, Hopeful i could go on. I can sit and say now that when i think about it the most i am is MAD. My Granny is 72 years old she has been smoking since she was 12! That is 60 years!!! Sixty freakin years!!! I understand addictions, really i do. In this year there is so much medical proof that lets you know what smoking does, it just bugs me. People very dear to me still smoke, my husband, mother father everyone! I am the only one that doesn't. Maybe there is something wrong with me. I know that until she gets better this is going to bug me. I am not one of those ppl to go and protest what others do or to try to preach to them but perhaps when i go to florida i will bring some pictures back of how granny is and so other ppl can see what they will face if they keep smoking!!!

My best friend came into town last week and we went out. I love getting ready to go out getting pretty and just having a good time. I can honestly say that the downtown scene is no longer for me. Dinner with great food and wine is what seems good to me! I have had a nice life had a lot of fun and a lot of great friends. I have 2 lovely children and i think that it is time to do grown up things! Maybe it is just time to relax and have dinner here and there!

I hope to start writing at least every other day now. I would like to get this blog up about my life and where my journey takes me!

Minerals....

So a bit ago i decided to switch from Revlon ColorStay makeup which was thick and had a lot of coverage. I love it but i knew it was rather cakey and heavy! I went on eBay and found PureMinerals. I thought that I would give it a try. I didn't like the concealer that it comes with because I like more coverage. So I ordered a concealer from them and waited a bit. I love it!!! I used Sheer Cover and I didn't like them, their concealer is a bit oily. Pure Minerals is wonderful though. I love that I can put more coverage on different parts of my face. I do need to use a moisturizer though. My face tends to get dry though....

I have ordered so much though them.... They are reasonable priced and their shipping is not going to kill you! You do have to wait for it to arrive but i truly LOVE this product!

Tea Party Anyone...

My little girl wants to have a Tea Party! I am so happy because I have always wanted to have a tea party! My sister and I were never really close growing up so that was not an option! SO I am excited! I have sound a tea house here in San Diego that has reasonable prices. I need to go find us some dresses and get this show on the road!!! I am so excited!

I have also decided that i want to start collecting teacups for her and get her a tea set for her 4th birthday and give it to her when she gets married! (hoping of course that she gets married) I never understood how my mom felt when she had a little girl but now i do. Someone to play dress up with and do fun things with! so awesome!

NFP

So hubby and i have decided that we are going to do NFP (Natural Family Planning). I was doing research on the IUD and I didn't like what I found. I came across this Buyer Be Aware site and it really had my mind going! That is crazy stuff. I guess when I got the thing it stated all those things in the book. At that point I wanted to make sure that I was not going to get pregnant that i didn't care. Especially with DH just getting off a deployment. Well i had the thing in for 1 year no periods for 2 and it was really starting to freak me out no matter how normal it is. I called the OB clinic and they told me that the only appointment is with some lady that is a bitch and likes to give lectures. Screw that. I reached up and with 2 tugs it was out! I was free! Now we have to be careful and I am praying for a nice normal period. So now i get to go in for a PAP!!!

I saw the infomercial on TV and i really liked it. I really had to purchase things from those shows because they can send you junk mail or they can sell your number and most of all try to get you to purchase new things!!! Anywho...

The Ped Egg can be done anywhere ( i used it on the couch) and the clean-up is easy!! I can do my own Pedicures with this and won't have to worry about what i am going to do with my kids!!!

Granny, Crazy kids, and babies

Granny was diagnosed with cancer about 2 months ago. She started her kemo and has done really good. She has just been really tired. She has kept her appetite and still remained herself with her crazy sense of humor and her wonderful outlook on life. She has been really optimistic about everything, Including her HAIR. She has had that same hair style since i dunno when. I remember it for the longest time. Well today she called and told me that she lost her hair. I dunno why but i had so many questions. I knew that i should have expected it but DAMN. She got herself a wig and i hope that she gets used to it by July. Granny is taking it
really well.
She is so optimistic about everything that i can't not be the same. Granny has been my grandmother, mother, friend, best friend, shoulder to cry on. She is my rock, she is who i look up to. I know she will be okay. She has to see her great grand-babies grow up!

These damn kids are nuts! It is like they gang up on me in their own way. This week was hard Daddy had long days and a duty day that sucked! They didn't give me a break for one second. Also with the new puppy they all have me in circles!!! I love my kids but maybe today I will get a break. The puppy is doing great with potty training and he is very well behaved. I could not
have asked for a better dog. The kids are a bit
rough with him but they will be fine. They just
need to learn that they can't hit him with things
and can't try to drag him in blankets! Maybe
one day he will stand up for himself!

Today was also hard because I went to the hospital to see my friends newborn who is in NICU. It tore me apart. Her son is in the NICU for the same thing E had. He was also born at 36 weeks so they are treating him for preemie and TTN which is what E had. It really tore me up for many reasons. A baby in NICU is never good. And i can only vision what my son went through when i was recovering myself. It really hurt but i knew that it was the best thing for him.

Granny is responding well with chemo and dealing with the issues that comes with that. She has not lost her hair. That is a wonderful thing! She is really tired. if that is the only obvious side effect she is having right now that is a good thing. I am handling this entire thing a lot better than i thought. It hurts, it is hard to be optimistic. I have to be. I have high hopes for her. She is a strong women. She will and can beat this

KIPPER!!! He is 2 months and 7 days old. Brianna named him Kipper after the show on Noggin. He is a sweet boy and he is doing well in our house and most of all FOR our house! We want to get him shaved so that his hair is not so long to bother Ethan. Ethan is responding to him very well and so is Brianna.
This year will be a new one for our family with the new puppy and all the doctor appointments for Ethan. I have such high hopes that Ethan will get better and that he will over come this to an extent.

hey all....

I have been absent the past few days, well week actually. i found out over the weekend that my grandmother has cancer. Great! She has cancer in her lungs, bronchial tubes, lymph noid and a spot on her liver. Her lungs are to weak for surgery so they are going to do radiation. I am not okay with that fact, but i am as well as one can be!

One a lighter note

Hubby and I went to Benihana on Friday night! The food was great and we had a WONDERFUL table of people. There was nothing special. we got a sitter and went out! it was fabulous.

This week has been rather normal. We took Brianna to Build-A-Bear and I got some charms for my charm bracelet... That has been the highlight of our week.

I did find out some new information on some Tricare stuff so i will be looking into that and posting later...

Nuffins anyone????

Today while the little one was napping the older one and I made muffins (she calls them nuffins). I cheated, I used boxed banana nut mix. I also bought one of those new silicone bake ware things that holds 6 regular size muffins. It sucked! half the muffin stayed in the cup! they are supposed to be non-stick! I got it from my local grocery store because it was on sale..... I won't be buying anymore of those!

For what it is worth.... The muffins are great though!

I went to the gym today, 24 Hour Fitness, I worked out for 20 minutes and I felt good about it actually. i had a good time. I came home made dinner and sent the kids to bed. I am here writing this blog because I have to start somewhere.

Everyday I learn something new being a mom. it is rewarding.
